Calculating molecular formula

Postby Simone Seliger 1C » Thu Oct 15, 2015 1:23 pm

One of the quiz questions in the workbook asks to find the molecular formula of a given mass composition. It also provides the total molar mass. After many tries, I continue to get a start mole amount for one of the elements. Should I assume I am doing something wrong if one of the values is a decimal? I'm not disclosing specifics because it's part of the unanswered quiz, but I hope my question can be taken generally.

If your answer is close enough to a whole number and the rest of your answers seem correct to you, you should be safe to round up/down and not have to worry too much about it.
