Molecular vs. Formula Units

Postby Sarah Huang 3A » Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:05 pm

As I was reviewing, I realized that the book differentiated molecular and formulaic units, can someone explain the difference to me and provide an example so I could know how to calculate them each? Or are they the same?

I think formula units are usually used for solid network compounds (usually ionic) whereas molecular units are for covalent compounds.
