conformations

Postby Ajith Raja 2L » Fri Mar 11, 2016 10:12 pm

So for cyclohexane for example, the conformations are chair and boat correct? What do we need to know for these for the final? And do we have to know the conformations for bigger molecules like cycloheptane and octane? Thank you.

You should know anything that's been covered in the course reader (i.e. how cis and trans substituents on the cycloalkane look like, whether axial or equatorial is more stable on the cyclohexane, etc.)
