Ring flip

Ring flip
Is the ring flip the same as rotating the structure 180 degrees? It seems like that ends up being the correct ring flip.

It may appear that way but it is not. The substituents must remain in their same carbon positions during the flip. If you just rotated the molecule, it would throw off the substituent placement. This is definitely not how you should think of the flip.
