Can someone explain the meaning of "dihedral" when it comes to drawing a Newman Conformation?

the dihedral angle is the angle made by 4 consecutively covalently connected atoms. as for newman, these angles are commonly 0, 60, 120, and 180 and help to determine the positions of the the C, H, and other substituents.
