Wien's Law, proposed by Wilhelm Wien, describes the connection between the temperature of a black body (an idealized object that absorbs all electromagnetic radiation) and the color (or peak wavelength) of the light it emits. In simple terms, as the temperature of the black body increases, the color of the emitted light shifts towards the blue end of the spectrum. Conversely, cooler temperatures result in a shift towards the red end. This law is crucial in astrophysics for estimating the temperatures of celestial bodies by analyzing the colors of the light they emit, providing valuable insights into the nature of stars and other cosmic objects.
