### Importance of Black Bodies?

If idealistically no true black bodies exist in nature, what is the significance of learning about them?

I'm pretty sure we don't actually have to know anything about them for this course. They were only mentioned to show that unlike atoms and molecules, there is something that can absorb or emit 'all' frequencies. It was just used as a comparison.

Blackbody radiation is actually a very important topic in physics. Although nothing is a 100% true blackbody, there are many objects such as stars which approximately behave as blackbody. Even such approximation can help us understand approximate behavior.
