I'm curious to know how the black body radiation helps to understand the properties of the electromagnetic radiation, I understand what it is but don't know how to support the properties of the radiation through this.

For question 1.21, the correct answer should be (d) the photoelectric effect. The photoelectric effect best supports the idea that electromagnetic radiation has the properties of particles because electromagnetic radiation consists of particles (or packets) of energy called photons, each photon having a fixed energy equal to h times nu (E=h*nu).

The photoelectric effect should be the answer because during the experiment, light (which is also electromagnetic radiation) was shined on a metal in attempt to launch an electron. In trying to do so, they tried amping up the intensity but that still did not eject the electron. Upon more attempts, they found that when they increase the intensity of the light, no electron can be ejected no matter the intensity. Rather, they saw only changing the light source, or the wavelength, would eject the electron. Increasing the intensity would merely increase the number of particles, but it takes the right amount of energy to eject the electron which proves that light has particle properties.
