Temperature relates to brightness?
For black-body radiation, the textbook says that increasing temperature will increase the maximum intensity of radiation. In our worksheet in class, it talks about brightness and intensity. I was wondering if temperature, brightness, and intensity were all the same terms?

Re: Temperature relates to brightness?
These three terms do not mean the same thing. Intensity means the measurable amount of a property. Brightness is when a source appears to be radiating or reflecting light. Temperature is the degree of heat present in an object. Brightness and temperature are properties and intensity is how much of those properties are present.

Those three terms do not mean the same thing. Temperature is a property that tells you the degree of heat in an object. Brightness is a property that tells you the extent of light reflection there is of an object. Intensity is how concentrated/how much of there in temperature of brightness. So it could be an intense heat or intense brightness, or less intense heat or less intense brightness.
