Intensity of radiation

Postby Rehan Chinoy 1K » Sun Oct 21, 2018 4:02 pm

Is the intensity of the black body radiation related to a wave's amplitude? Or is it related to the number of electrons emitting a certain frequency?

It's related to the quantity of electrons, not the wavelength or frequency.

I do not think we need to know the Black Body effect. Dr. Lavelle discussed this in lecture and said he did not want to spend too much time on it.

Intensity in respect to a wave is the amplitude of the peaks and the troughs as a wave whereas intensity in respect to a particle is the amount of photons. I hope this helps !
