When do we actually use the Schrödinger Equation? I understand what it means but could someone give me an example problem where it would be used?

We are not expected to make calculations using the Schrodinger equation. However, the Schrodinger equation is the wavefunction and shows the approximate probability of finding an electron in a given position. Questions that would involve the Schrodinger equation would likely be definition problems, such as one that asks for what it shows us.
