Types of Problems

When do we use this? I do not remember being heavily tested on Shrodinger Equation but I would want to know when we should use this just in case. I am having a hard time understanding when we would apply this. Can someone explain?

We don't actually need to calculate anything using the equation, I know that lavelle sent an email on wednesday where he linked a reply on chemistry community asking about that so I would just look at that and not worry about any calculations!
