Which one is the SE equation V(r)= or En=
The book gives those but I am not sure how they are related?

The simplest representation of the schrodinger equation is $H\Psi= E\Psi$. H is the part where all the operators necessary for the problem are in there (details of the physics related to the problem of interest)
