### Schrodinger's Equation

Hello,

I'm having trouble understanding the significance of Schrodinger's equation. What exactly did it prove? Is there any equation related to it?

I covered the Schrodinger equation so that students know where orbitals come from and what they are (math functions) as a model for electron states in atoms.

Essentially, the Schrodinger's Equation allows us to have a mathematical representation for each type of orbital (s,p,d,f) that correlates to their shapes in 3D space
