The Hamiltonian is the double derivative or the wave function (psi). The double derivative of the wave function is the same as the energy of the electron.

Is the Hamiltonian likely to be used a lot in this course? Is there an example problem that demonstrates when you would use or solve for?

As far as I know, we won't need to do any calculations using Schrodinger's equation or the Hamiltonian in this class.
