Schrodinger on MT

Postby David Jen 1J » Sun Oct 25, 2020 2:42 am

Does anyone know if there will be Schrodinger related questions on MT1?

I think if we do have questions related to Shrodinger's it would mostly just be conceptual.

From what I've heard from TAs/UAs/Lecture, Schrodinger on the MT is going to be limited mostly to concepts about how when we square the wavefunction it represents probability density (of finding an electron in that region) and how that corresponds to atomic orbitals.

I'm thinking we will probably also have to know what each part of Schrodinger's Equation represents. So, the part with the fractions represents kinetic energy, the part with V represents potential energy, and these together equal total energy of the system

I've mostly heard that Schrodinger on the MT will be more conceptual from UA's and TA's!!

Does anyone know in what scenario we use the Schrodinger's equation? like i kinda understand it conceptually but I dont know how to set it up with math.

I believe we just need to know the relationship between Schrodinger's and orbitals.

The questions will most likely be conceptual so you might want to rewatch the Shrodinger portion of lecture to review.
