Topic 1D.1 and 1D.2

Postby Irene Kang 3F » Fri Oct 15, 2021 12:34 pm

I am sort of confused on which equations we have to take out of these two sections from the textbook. Do we need to know the V(r) equation from 1D.1 and like the wave function=(1/pia30)^1/2 e^-r/a0 from 1D.2? What does the second equation mean/used for and what does a30 mean?

From my understanding, the only things we need to know are whatever Professor Lavelle covers in class. Anything in the book is only to help with our understanding, so if something is covered in the book that is not covered in class, I'm pretty sure we don't need to know it (or I don't think we will be tested on it).

I'm pretty sure any equation we need to know will be on the equation sheet Dr. Lavelle provided for us. If it's not there, we probably don't need to know that equation.
