Regarding industrial examples of coordination compounds, is Cis-platin as the chemotherapy drug the only example we need to know for the final?
Are there any other industrial examples of coordination compounds that we should know?

No, cisplatin should be all we need to know for industrial examples of coordination compounds. But remember that we also need to know biological examples of coordination compounds.

What is one biological example of coordination compounds?

I think we need to know vitamin b12 and hemoglobin and myoglobin

I would review all the biological examples Dr. Lavelle has reviewed in class. As seen by Test 2, he might pull up something from his lectures that we considered to be unimportant or just another example.

What do we need to know about these coordination compounds??

I think it’d be good to review the general structure and the different things he notes about it; for hemoglobin I remember Prof. Lavelle talked quite a bit about oxygen and iron within hemoglobin.

I think overall it would be a good idea to understand the details of specific biological examples from class because he spent a good amount of time going into some of those examples pretty thoroughly.

I'd say know how to identify biological compounds, but also review industrial ones just to be safe.

no, i believe Cisplatin is all we should need to know for the final as it is the main example he went over in lecture.

He also went over transplatin in lecture, so I would know that too.

i think we need to know the structures and functions of hemoglobin, myoglobin, vitamin b12, cisplatin, and transplatin

Can someone explain what cisplatin does?

I think knowing the structure/function of cisplatin is most crucial, so I'd study that most and then look over a few industrial/biological examples mentioned in the book.

I believe that EDTA holds industrial applications when it bonds with metal ions and forms a coordination complex
