Re: Diatomic Molecules
Diatomic molecules are molecules composed of two atoms that are the same. Some examples are H2, O2, N2, F2, I2, Cl2, Br2.

Re: Diatomic Molecules
The diatomic molecules are the molecular forms of hydrogen, nitrogen, fluorine, oxygen, iodine, chlorine, and bromine. A mnemonic I was taught to help remember them is: Have No Fear Of Ice Cold Beer.
Re: Diatomic Molecules
Also, one thing to know about diatomic molecules are that they are NOT polar.

Here is a link to a good illustration of the diatomic elements as seen in the periodic table.

I like to remember it as H O F Br I N Cl or HOFBRINCL. Sounds like a movie villain name or something.

Re: Diatomic Molecules
I remember all of them in the order as Br I N Cl H O F, altogether they sound like Brinkelhoff.

Re: Diatomic Molecules
they're just molecules composed of two atoms, but the acronyms others have given are really helpful.
