Naming compounds

Postby Alexis Brown 2I » Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:24 pm

I was reviewing Fundamentals H and a few questions asked to first name the compound. On the midterm, if we are asked to balance an equation, will it already be in the compound form? For example Ca(OH)2 or will we need to know that is what calcium hydroxide, or any other compound, is?

I'm pretty sure that the compound's molecular formula will be given to us in the midterm, though it was mentioned in lecture that we should know the molecular formulas for commonly given compounds like water, carbon dioxide, etc. Other than that though the molecular formula will be given to us.
