Writing Chemical Symbols of Compounds Given Names

Postby Andy Nguyen 2K » Sat Oct 21, 2023 11:09 am

Hi,
For the midterm exam, are we supposed to know how to write chemical symbols given the name of chemical compounds? For example, are we supposed to know what sodium hydroxide is for Fundamentals H.7?

What is the best resource to learn the names of these compounds and memorize them?

We should know the basics that we pick up as we go through this class but we aren't given a list of things to memorize.

No, Dr. Lavelle mentioned during lecture that the chemical compound name will be provided with the chemical formula so it's not necessary to memorize them.
