7th Edition L.35 question
I have a question on L.35 because the question and the answer in the solutions manual seem to be different. I tried balancing the equation FeBr2 + Na2CO3 -> NaBr + CO2 + Fe3O4, but it seemed difficult so I checked the solutions manual. However, the answer key has it balanced as Fe3Br8 + 4 Na2CO3 -> 8 NaBr + 4 CO2 +Fe3O4. The main issue is that the FeBr2 changes to a Fe3Br8, which I am confused with. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated! Thanks :))

Re: 7th Edition L.35 question
I noticed that too and I believe the answer key is correct and the reactant should be Fe3Br8. This would make sense because the product from the second reaction should be one of the reactants in the 3rd reaction.

Re: 7th Edition L.35 question
I believe you were looking at the second line when trying to copy the third line to balance. The textbook does say that the equation needed to be balanced is Fe3Br8 + Na2CO3 -> NaBr + CO2 + Fe3O4

I got stuck on that problem as well! I searched online because I had been trying to balance the equation for some time, and when I searched it, it said that the equation they asked us to balance was not possible.
