Combustion
Just making sure: when writing out combustion reactions, it's implied that we add oxygen as a reagent and CO2 and H20 as products, right?

yes! all combustion reactions will always have O2 as a reactant and the products of CO2 and H2O (:

Re: Combustion
Like @megan3j said, there will always be carbon dioxide and water as products in combustion reactions. There will also always be oxygen (diatomic form) as a reactant.
There may also be some additional elements in the combustion reaction (e.g. nitrogen). However, for these problems, you probably will be given the unbalanced reaction or the other molecule(s), meaning that you only have to balance the reaction and then perform analysis.

Yes! This is for all combustion reactions. Additionally, this can sometimes be referred to as burning or oxidative metabolism in some word problems.
