When finding the net ionic units do polyatomic ions remain connected or do you multiply out the end subscript by the preceding number?

Polyatomic ions dissolve in connected units. So Na₃PO₄ would dissolve into 4 units (3 sodium and 1 PO₄ ^3-).

Not all polyatomic ions dissolve. If the ion is insoluble, you don't distribute the stoichiometric coefficient.
