This fundamentals exercise gives names of the compounds being reacted/produced (like (a) Calcium metal reacts with water to produce hydrogen gas and aqueous calcium hydroxide.). I was just wondering if we are going to be expected to know how to write it into an actual chemical equation given just that information or not.

Re: H7
Hi! I am not very sure if we are expected to memorize compound names, but just to be safe I would say to memorize the common ones. Hope this helps!

Re: H7
I personally am going to memorize a few of the common ones. However, I think it is best to check with the professor or TA just in case to make sure.

Like Inderpal mentioned, I would check with your TA. However, if you are looking to memorize the most common ones, this is a really helpful sheet you can use to memorize them :)
