### Balancing Equations

Im having trouble with balancing equations. How can i make sure that my end result is the correct answer. I tend to get lost at the end because i do not know how can i check if both equations have the same number of molecules.

### Re: Balancing Equations

Hey!

After you balance the equation, each element needs to have the same number of moles on each side. So you would just multiply each element by the coefficient that is in front of the molecule. If the element has a subscript, multiply that in too.
Ex: 2 mol Cl2 would be the same as having 4 mol Cl
Then compare the numbers for both sides.

Hope this helps!

### Re: Balancing Equations

What helps me and others I know is making a table and writing how many atoms of each type I have down for both sides of the table. If they match up, you have the correct balanced equation, if not, you should go back and check your equation to see where you miscounted.
