Units of Pressure

Do you think that we have to know all the different units of pressure and be able to convert between them? I know that R, the gas constant changes depending on each unit (atm, bar, Torr, kPa, etc.), so would it be useful to be familiar with all of these units? Thanks!

I don't think we will have to memorize the conversions between units of pressure. If we do have to convert them, they should be on the constants and equations sheet.

We will most likely get a formula sheet that tells us the conversions.

I believe most of the unit conversions will be provided on the formula sheet.

Most likely the value we need will be provided, just check that the units in the constant match up with the pressure unit.

I think that we will be given these values on a constants sheet or something like that. Just make sure that when dealing with units of pressure, pick one unit and be consistent with it throughout the problem. Be sure to not interchange them.

Usually, he'll give us something we can use to do that so I would not worry about it.

It is helpful to understand the general proportionalities between the different units of pressure because although we will be getting a conversion sheet, sometimes you may have used a wrong conversion that you could easily identify based on what you would approximate it to be.

I do not think we will be expected to memorize them as it will most likely be provided in a formula sheet but it is good to understand them!
