### Bars vs atmospheres

What is the difference between bars and atmospheres as units for finding Kp or Qp? Which one is used, and if it is either, why are both applicable?

I believe that both are used because they are both units of pressure.

The two are just different units of measurement. Depending on what unit is given and what unit they want in the final answer, you will need to use dimensional analysis to convert between the two. To convert between them, you need to know that 1 bar = 100 kPa (obtained from online) and 1 atm = 101.325 kPa (obtained from constant and equation sheet).

In terms of Kp and Qp, the unit you use for pressure doesn't matter as long as you stay consistent because the equilibrum constant and reaction quotient are both unitless.

Both can be used for measuring pressure, depending on the context of the problem it would be good to stay consistent with the units.

Both are units for measuring pressure. They are both okay to use, just make sure that you stay consistent with whichever unit you choose or with whatever is given in the problem.

They are both units of pressure, so as long as all the units match up you should be good to go.

### Re: Bars vs atmospheres

Both are applicable because they are units of pressure. On google it says that bars is smaller than atmospheric pressure, so keep your units consistent (: .

Both work as their respective units of measurement, mostly dealing with gasses and pressure

They are both units of pressure; I think it depends on the question and what units that specific question wants you to use.

### Re: Bars vs atmospheres

Bars and atmospheres are both units of pressure and you should be able to use both as long as the units are the same throughout the problem.

They are both units of pressure and can be interchanged through unit conversions (like pounds and kilograms).
