Non-Ideal gases?
When will we start using non-ideal gases? Like which course in the Chemistry series? Or is it another series?

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I believe Dr.Lavelle has said we do not use non-ideal gases in the course but possibly in some upper-division chemistry courses we might.

I think they're only covered in later classes, not in this one.

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I do not think we will be learning about real gases and the modified ideal gas equation in this series of courses.
Re: Non-Ideal gases?
Lavelle normally posts detailed outlines that include what material this course covers and posts it on his website, if there is no mention of it there it's pretty safe to assume that you will not need to know it for this course.

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
Non-ideal gases are not tested for this course because it isn't on the syllabus or lecture!

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I think Dr. Lavelle mentioned that this course would only deal with ideal gases since they are much easier to deal with conceptually and in terms of doing calculations.

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I don't believe that we will be using non-ideal gases in this course as it is not mentioned in the syllabus.

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I think Dr. Lavelle said we would not be using any non-ideal gases in this course, but more likely in higher-division classes.

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I'm pretty sure we don't start using them unless we take the higher level chemistry classes in the future.

I don't believe we will cover it in this course. But you can always email him to make sure! But in the syllabus it didn't seem to mention it

Re: Non-Ideal gases?
I don't think they will be covered in this class, but maybe in other future classes or series. Hope this helps!

according to the syllabus for this unit yes.
Re: Non-Ideal gases?
just so I can reference it for later what are non-ideal gases and what are they utilized for?
