Hello! Dissociation energy is the energy required to break a chemical bond. For example, the dissociation energy for a F2 molecule is 146 kJ per mol, meaning it takes 146 kJ per mol of energy in order to break the bond between the two F atoms.

The dissociation energy is the energy it takes to break up a bond of a molecule which creates neutral atoms.
