Forming Hydrogen Bonds

Postby Coral_Clune_2B » Mon Nov 11, 2024 10:19 pm

The criteria for forming hydrogen bonds states that hydrogen must be attached to a very electronegative atom. For this class, does this "very electronegative atom" ONLY include Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Fluorine? Or does it also include other elements like Sulfur? What will we be expected to know for the midterm?

I think for now, you just need to worry about whether a hydrogen atom is connected to a Nitrogen, Oxygen, or Fluorine atom. I think lavelle would have mentioned it in lecture if it was any different.
