solubility
can someone explain the connection between intermolecular forces and the solubility of different molecules (when it comes to other bonding, other than hydrogen)

Intermolecular forces are electrostatics in nature and have vander Waals forces and hydrogen bonds. One thing to remember is that "the stronger the intermolecular forces between the solute molecule and solvent molecule, the greater the solubility if the solute in the solvent." nonpolar solutes mostly dissolve in non polar solvents and polar normally dissolve in polar solvents.

The type and strength of intermolecular forces in a solute determine its solubility in a particular solvent. Substances with similar intermolecular forces are more likely to be soluble in each other. Polar substances tend to dissolve in polar solvents due to hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole interactions, while nonpolar substances dissolve in nonpolar solvents due to dispersion forces. The balance of these forces determines whether a substance will dissolve, partially dissolve, or remain insoluble in a given solvent.
