Lattice Energy

How can we predict the lattice energy of a compound. What forces are responsible for the lattice energy?

Charge and size of the ions in a compound can affect its lattice energy: increases in charge and size both lead to an increase in lattice energy.

If the solid has strong intermolecular forces, the lattice energy will increase. The lattice energy is basically the amount of energy requires to break those connections between molecules. As a result, strong intermolecular forces increase lattice energy.
