If the molecule is completely symmetric then the dipole moments on each molecule will cancel each other out.

Dipole moments cancel out when there are same signs on different sides of the molecule.

Dipoles cancel in the same way which vectors cancel. A vector can be broken down into a component in each direction. When summed, vectors that equal 0 are dipoles that cancel.
