Hydrogen Bond

In H2SeO4 how is there a hydrogen bond? Doesn't a hydrogen bond have to be between two O's or between two N,F, or Os? These hydrogens are just bonded to one Oxygen and nothing else!

If two H2SeO4 molecules were to interact, hydrogen bonds would take place between the hydrogens in one molecule (which are bound to an O) and the oxygen in the other which gives rise to hydrogen bonds.

Correct, like Lucy said, since there is no bond between hydrogen and carbon there are hydrogen bonds

The hydrogen in one molecule is partially positive, and would form a hydrogen bond with an oxygen in another molecule, which is partially negative.

In an acid such as H2Se04, hydrogen is bonded with oxygen. Oxygen also has 2 lone pairs and 2 bonding pairs. Therefore the requirements for H-bonding are met. A lone pair on an electronegative (N, O, F) and a Hydrogen attached to an N, O, F. Drawing the lewis structures always help.

Hydrogen bonds would occur because there is a hydrogen bonded to an oxygen. It doesn't matter what other atoms the oxygen would bind to because of how large the electronegativity difference is between hydrogen and oxygen. This means that the hydrogen would be partially positive and the oxygen would be partially negative which would allow the molecule to form hydrogen bonds.

So basically if there is no bond with the carbons than it is a Hydrogen bond or so i believe.
