What was the difference again?

Insulated systems can exchange mass with its system while isolated systems can exchange neither heat energy or mass.

In addition, in an insulated system, there are no changes with surroundings, with only a potential exchange of mass.

In a closed system, mass cannot exchange with the surroundings, but energy can. In an insulated system, heat transfer (energy) is restricted, but mass exchange can still occur.

an isolated system is insulated because insulated means that energy in the form of heat cannot be transferred between the system and the surroundings. And isolated system is also closed because it does not allow any movement of actual molecules and atoms in and out of the system.
