What is the difference between heat and thermal energy?

I believe that heat and thermal energy are practically identical. "Thermal" in thermal energy refers to heat, so heat energy.

I think that Heat energy is thermal energy during transfer. Thermal energy refers to the internal energy of the system from the temperature.
