How do you explain the difference between bond enthalpies in NO and NO2?

NO has a double bond while in NO2 the bonds are equivalent due to resonance. The lewis structures for NO and for NO2 show that the bond order in NO is the double bond and that in NO2 it is about the average of a N-O and N=O.

Also, I think it would require more energy to break the double bond than it would be to break the single bond (if you want to say something in terms of energy).

Why do more complex molecules have higher bold enthalpies than simpler molecules?

Entropies of large, complicated molecules are greater than those of smaller, simpler molecules because large, complicated molecules have more disorder as there are a greater number of ways they can move around in 3D space.

What is the difference between reaction enthalpy and standard formation enthalpy? How can we tell the difference in a reaction?

Reaction enthalpy describes the total net change in enthalpy that occurs after the reactants change and form products. Standard formation enthalpies describe the enthalpy required to create a given molecule from its atoms

NO HAS A DOUNVLE BOND
BUT NO2 HAS A resonnance structure, which means the strenth of the bond is between double bond and single bond
Therefore, NO has higher bond enthalpy
