Thinking Point: How could you ensure that an electric battery produced and electric current reversibly?

Can someone help me understand this please. Thank you!

Hey! I'm not sure about this but I think that in most electric circuits, whenever we want to reverse the direction of the flowing energy, we must reverse the direction of the electric current. For example, to "recharge" a battery, we force the charge to reverse its direction of flow. Hope this helps! :)

In a reversible process, the work done by something is completely efficient. Meaning there is no loss to heat/entropy (something that will be covered in the future).

For a reversible battery, 100% of the work done by the battery goes towards useful energy, like charge being stored in a capacitor. We can test for reversibility by charging a capacitor with a battery, then reversing the current. If the battery is completely recharged by the stored energy in the capacitor, then the process is reversible. No energy was lost in the process.
