Can someone check my answers and help me explain some of these ?

A) coffee in a very high quality thermos bottle would be isolated system because the bottle is conserving the heat so its trapped

B) coolant in a refrig coil
Don’t get what this one means

C) a bomb calorimeter in which benzene is burned
Closed system because bomb calorimeter conserves the constant volume but temp would increase

D)gasoline burning in automobile engine
Open system?

E) mercury in a thermometer
Don’t get this one, I’m assuming closed system

F) living plant
Open system

A) Correct
B) Closed, because coolant in a refrigerator coil is what "cools" down the refrigerator so heat is transferred
C) Isolated, because nothing is exchanged
D) Correct, both heat and volume of gas liquid is changing
E) Yes closed, because the mercury changes in response to temperature changes
F) Correct

a. sounds correct, the system is isolated, b. is an example of a closed system as the coolant does not exchange matter, however, the coolant shares energy in order to keep the refrigerator cold c. a bomb calorimeter is an example of an isolated system as the calorimeter is closed and made of materials that do not allow for energy to be exchanged through it, d. gasoline is an example of an open system as the matter is able to be exchanged as well as energy, e. mercury in a thermometer is an example of a closed system as the mercury matter is enclosed within, however, it is able to have energy transferred through in order to detect the temperature. f. living plant is an open system as in order to live, it is left out to the elements.

When I first did this problem I thought that a) would be closed since it can't be completely isolated, but it's close enough to completely isolated to count.
