Isolated System
For an isolated system will all values of deltaU=q+w equal 0 or is it just the deltaU that is 0?

Re: Isolated System
In an isolated system, energy is transferred, so q=0, q=0, and delta u also equals 0

Re: Isolated System
Isolated systems cannot exchange heat or work for that reason delta u will be 0. (0+0=0)
Re: Isolated System
q of the system + q of the surroundings always equals 0. Since an isolated system has no exchanges with surroundings, q of the surroundings is equal to 0, meaning that q of the system must also be 0.

Re: Isolated System
in an isolated system, energy and matter cannot be exchanged. So, q=0 and w=0, which means that delta q=0.
