why is a sealed beaker of water considered a closed system?

Since it's sealed, no matter can be removed or added but heat can still be transferred so it's a closed sytem.

It would be a closed system because matter can't be exchanged with the surroundings since it is sealed but heat could be.

It is a closed system because there will be no exchange of matter, only heat. However, it is not isolated as there can be an exchange of heat.

Because in a closed system, matter cannot be transferred, but energy can.

Because matter cannot transfer if it is sealed, but heat can (which is what a closed system is).

It’s sealed so no matter can leave or come in. But since it’s not insulated, heat can still be exchanged. So it is a closed system.

Because it is sealed, no matter can get out from within, so no mass exchange can occur. However, because it is not insulated, we know that energy exchange can, so it is not an isolated system. Therefore, it is a closed system, that can exchange energy, but not matter.
