Textbook question 4B.3

The internal energy of a system increased by 982 J when it was supplied with 492 J of energy as heat. (a) Was work done by or on the system? (b) How much work was done?

For part b, I keep getting 490J, but the answer key in the back of the book says 90*10^2J? Could someone please explain how to get this answer?

I believe I asked a question on this earlier. I also got 490J and someone who replied to my question also got the same answer. I think the textbook's answer is wrong and it should be 490J.

I got 490 J as well. I believe the answer in the book is wrong.

If this offers any reassurance, I also got 490 Joules for my answer. Either we're somehow all wrong or the solutions manual is wrong. Chem_Mod?
