## Intensive vs. extensive, state vs. non state

### Intensive vs. extensive, state vs. non state

Can someone give me a comprehensive list of the functions we have looked at so far that are intensive vs. extensive and state vs. non state? Also, are the two concepts related?

I am not sure what you mean by intensive vs. extensive states but if you are referring to the intensive and extensive properties, they are:

Intensive
color, temperature, texture, density
Extensive
mass/weight, length, volume

Not too sure about relation between intensive/extensive and state/nonstate, but state/non-state functions so far have usually in relation to equilibrium and energy processes (enthalpy, specific heat, and Gibbs free energy are all examples of state functions). Intensive/extensive properties are determined by relation to amounts of substance (see the list given above).

Not too sure about the intensive vs. extensive but the state functions are: pressure, density, temperature, volume, enthalpy, internal energy, Gibbs free energy, and entropy.

An extensive property is one that is dependent on volume/size. A state function is a function such as specific heat capacity, where the path taken does not matter only the beginning and end points.
