qp and delta H

Postby Kaethe Zappacosta 2L » Mon Jan 24, 2022 5:04 pm

Are these the same thing? I know delta H is the change in heat, so is qp the same thing?

Yes, change in enthalpy (delta H) = qp. This is because change is enthalpy is defined as the amount of heat released or absorbed at constant pressure.

Q is an example of energy in transit, and Delta H or enthalpy is the state of the system, total heat content.

Yes, delta H and qp are the same. This is because at a constant pressure, the change in enthalpy of a system is equal to the heat flow.
