Isolated Systems

Postby Kieran Monks 2H » Sun Jan 17, 2016 9:58 pm

In terms of an isolated system, are there any real world examples? I know it occurs in a lab setting, but is that the only place where it is possible?

I think the isolated system is an ideal model. It cannot even exist in lab setting, but can only be used in calculation.

I think maybe an example could be soup in a very high quality thermos because mass can't go into the surroundings and the thermos should also keep the energy (heat) inside too.
