Kelvin or celcius?

Postby 006248274 » Mon Feb 19, 2024 11:12 am

Are there any equations where the units HAVE to be celcius and any which HAVE to be kelvin? Or is does any unit work for all equations?

Most equations use kelvin, such as the equation for entropy, gibbs free energy. You should also always use the units according to the specific problem. I think one equation we can use celsius is for mcdeltaT when solving for heat given a heat capacity of J/g*ºC, but generally, check the units for the problem since heat capacity could also be given in J/g*K

Usually we never use celsius and always have to convert to kelvin.
