Constant Temperature and Pressure Question

Postby Amber Shanks 2K » Wed Feb 21, 2024 12:28 pm

What it mean in the system when the pressure and temperature is constant? How does it affect the system, and how does it impact the way we would solve a problem given these conditions?

When it says the pressure and temperature are constant, it means that these values are not changing as time moves on. This also means that the volume of the gas is directly proportional to the number of gas molecules in the system.

When pressure and temperature are constant, changes in the system will occur without adding work to the system. Generally, calculations focus on changes to internal energy rather than enthalpy; this is seen using principles like the First Law of Thermodynamics and the Ideal Gas Law.
