## Adiabatic vs Isothermal

isochoric/isometric: $\Delta V = 0$
isothermal: $\Delta T = 0$
isobaric: $\Delta P = 0$

### Adiabatic vs Isothermal

If a system is adiabatic can it automatically be classified as isothermal? Will this classification affect our calculations in any way?

If I'm correct, an isothermal reaction means that the temperature remains constant, whereas an adiabatic process implies that no heat is exchanged between a system and its surroundings.

Based on that definition, an adiabatic process is by its very nature isothermal, as a process that involves no heat exchange would experience a constant temperature. I don't believe this would affect calculations, as the isothermal designation is the most common.
