If temperature does not change, can the internal energy change? If not, can someone please explain?

If pressure increases, internal energy can increase even if temperature is constant. This happens when we are NOT dealing with ideal gases because at high pressure, molecules in non-ideal gases repel each other.

internal energy cannot change without a temperature change; this means for isothermal reactions delta U is zero. this is because of the equation delta U=(3/2)nR(delta T)---it should be on the equation sheet as internal energy for an ideal gas.
